Why Not All MedSpas Are Equal
The medical aesthetics industry has grown fast — and not all of that growth has been good for consumers. Across the Quad Cities, there’s a wide range in quality, safety, and outcomes. Knowing the difference can protect both your safety and your results.
Credentials to Look For
Verify license (MD, DO, NP, PA, or RN with appropriate supervision), advanced aesthetic training and certification, continuing education, and full-time specialization in aesthetics.
Questions to Ask Before Booking
Who will perform my treatment and what are their qualifications? Can I see before-and-after photos of real patients? What happens if I have a complication? Is there a physician on staff or on call? Are products FDA-approved and purchased through legitimate channels?
Red Flags to Walk Away From
Can’t tell you who is performing your treatment. Pressure to buy packages before consultation. Prices significantly below market rate (sign of counterfeit product or undertrained staff). No clear medical director. No medical history review before treatment.
Why The Beauty Bar Stands Out
Marisa McCune is a board-certified nurse practitioner with 16 years of medical experience and advanced aesthetic training focused on facial rejuvenation.
